PICTURED: Tree work in the campground & along the road to the crags.
It was a week of Mennonite Disaster Service (MDS) volunteers and quilter retreat participants joining together at Rocky Mountain. From Tuesday through Saturday, up to 80 trees of a variety of sizes related to forest thinning and hazard trees were removed. Trees near camp structures (Aspen, Eagles Nest), the campground and along the Aspen Ridge Nature Trail were addressed.

Removing fuels is a critical part of protecting and/or minimizing the threat of fire impact to the resources we’ve been blessed with here at RMMC. To learn more about our fire insurance plan click here.

Thanks to the 22 volunteers who helped with these efforts including keeping everyone fed.
