Fall Family Fun Retreat

Sept. 26-28, 2025

Arrival: 6:00pm Friday
Departure: 11:00am Sunday

Time for kids to play and parents to connect! Fall Family Fun with young children offers the perfect opportunity for your family to enjoy quality time, together, in the mountains. The weekend is inviting all young families that have connections with the Mennonite Community but might not be active church members.

Activities for children are orientated for 2-8 year olds. This is the age group that are too young to attend summer camps at RMMC, but ready to be introduced to the RMMC experience.

Staying under one roof, in Emmental Chalet, parents will be able to put the kids to bed and make connections with other families with future campers outside of the church building setting. With hikes for moms in the morning and dads in the afternoon, there is an opportunity for both adult time and family time. Arts and crafts, kayaking, a mine tour with gold panning, duck races, and free time are just a sample of activities during the weekend. Evenings include kids-play time, adult socialization, and late night snacks and games (just don’t wake the kids).

Program leaders

Jacob and Chelsey Miller with girls Evelyn (7) and Addie (4) from Lakewood, Colorado. Jacob and Chelsey worked at RMMC as program directors for 7 and 4 years respectively. They stay involved with RMMC with being the program directors of Family Camp 1 and 2 every summer. They understand that kids are exhausting, money is tight, community is needed and RMMC is a great place to share with your kids!

Frequently Asked Questions

What guidelines are in place to help keep children safe?

We want families with young children to enjoy their time at camp and stay safe. Children age 8 and younger should be kept within visual sight at all times or their parents or adult supervisor. When by the water (i.e. pond or stream) adults are asked to supervise children and be able to respond as needed. Life jackets at the pond should be used by everyone. During activities, children should be observed to avoid them wandering off and getting lost, although we trust everyone is kind and will step in to assist, adults are asked to remain aware of their needs. Children age 8 and older should be aware of where their parents/adult supervisor are with appropriate boundaries for for your individual children. We aim to keep camp safe and welcome suggestions for care for all.

Where can I learn more about my stay at RMMC (i.e. accommodations, altitude, creation care).

Please visit the “Reservation Guide” page of the website for “YOUR STAY WITH US”, “MOUNTAIN LIVING” & “CREATION CARE” information.

How can I see photos from a specific camp week?

How does the waitlist work?

In efforts to create a fair system to take requests and cabin switches for Fall Family Fun Retreat, we have a few guidelines we are implementing for the registration process. The steps below are the order we will work through the requests and waitlist.

Step 1: Those who attended the most recent Fall Family Fun Retreat:

  1. May re-reserve their current accommodation/room by the last day of retreat.
  2. Un-reserved spaces will be offered to others beginning the Monday after camp.
  3. A $25 non-refundable deposit is required for each participant.

Step 2: Those who attended the most recent Fall Family Fun Retreat:

  1. May request a different accommodation/room for the next year.
  2. Family unit names will be randomly pulled from a hat and offered available accommodations in that order.
  3. A $25 non-refundable deposit is required for each participant.

Step 3: Those who did not attend the most recent Fall Family Fun Retreat (additional family/friends of registered participants who wish to come and need separate housing, those still on the waitlist from the previous Fall Family Fun Retreat, and any new interest.)

  1. May register by the last day of camp and placed on the waitlist.
  2. Family unit names will be randomly pulled from a hat and offered available accommodations in that order.
  3. Multiple family units can be grouped (family friends, etc) as part of the name draw.
  4. A $25 non-refundable deposit is required for each participant once offered a space.

Step 4: Those who did not attend the most recent Fall Family Fun Retreat

  1. Names received on the Monday after the last day of camp will be put on the waitlist on a first come, first serve basis.
  2. As accommodations become available, families will be contacted in order of the waitlist.
  3. A $25 non-refundable deposit is required for each participant once offered a space.

Exceptions:

  1. Families with other health concerns resulting in cancellation (ie: untimely illness) will be considered on a case by case basis and may have the option to reserve the same accommodation for the following year. The cancelled accommodation/room will be offered to those on the waitlist without the guarantee to re-reserve that space for the next year.

Do you have to be Mennonite to attend camp?

While teachings are Bible-based and from a Mennonite perspective, campers of all faiths are respected and welcome to attend.
