Resident Camp weeks at Rocky Mountain were jam-packed with fun events this year with 213 campers visiting throughout the summer. Campers began their week this year with welcome games and the opportunity to sign up for hikes and activities for the following days. Monday and Wednesday morning included a shorter hike for campers to slowly prepare them for their all-day hike on Thursday which required a packed lunch. Some campers even get the chance to go rock climbing and rappelling during one of their morning hikes. Tuesday mornings included a variety of activities depending on what age of resident camp a camper attends. The Senior High campers have the opportunity to attend an off camp excursion, 8th & 9th grade campers travel down the road from camp to go tubing, and the 6th & 7th grade camp and the 4th & 5th grade camp each play a game of Animal Survival throughout the morning. Afternoons at camp include a variety of individuals and cabin activities such as watercolor painting, disc golf, friendship bracelet making, and card games.
Campers also attend worship services in the Chapel twice daily filled with music and faith discussion with camp pastor Dave Foncannon. This year’s worship theme was centered on weather and the changes we go through in life. Pastor Dave shared about different ways we can connect with God and seek him in our life throughout the different storms we face. The nightly topics discussed connecting with God during the calm, before a storm, during a storm, and after a storm. Campers’ week ended on Friday morning where they had the opportunity to complete their Polar Bearing challenge with a full plunge into the pond for 1 minute. This year camp returned to the daily polar bear challenge which had campers progressively submerge more of their body in the pond each morning. We are so thankful for all the campers who joined us at camp this summer and we hope to see you again next year!

During the week Senior High Campers get the opportunity to pick a day excursion: Overnight Hike, White Water Rafting, attempting a High Ropes Course, or visiting the Hot Springs. This year campers also got the opportunity to choose to hike Eyebrow Mountain for their all day hike.
“Loved both my campers and the hikes were great. I think you should switch the boys and girls sides though so that the boys can suffer up the hill (Put them in the highest cabin, no Heidi).”
“Worship was AMAZING! Dave is like a grandpa for camp. He is so down to Earth, easy to understand, funny, and engaging!”
“The food was EXCELLENT as always thanks to Mary!”
“The food was GREAT but could use some (a lot) more Mennonite food!! Please!
8th & 9th Grade
8th & 9th Grade camp was our largest this year and campers were given the opportunity to go tubing on either Tuesday or Wednesday of the week. The river was especially high this year which provided some really fun rapids for campers to cruise through.
“The devotions were very great! They really helped me look deeper into myself and share some of my inner struggles. I felt very safe and loved.”
“The worship times were phenomenal! Dave is such an awesome person and a great pastor.”
“Tubing was Super-Uper-Duper Fun!”
“Best camp bathrooms I have ever seen!”
6th & 7th Grade
6th & 7th Grade campers was had the opportunity to play Animal Survival and rock climb and rappel throughout the week.
“Words can not express how good Mary’s food is.”
“The cabins and bathouses felt clean and sanitary. The girl’s bathroom on boys’s side are absolutely haunted though.”
4th & 5th Grade camp is our youngest full week resident camp and throughout the week campers got to play games such as Animal Survival and Capture the Flag.
“One of the best weeks of the year!”
“I love this place! The food is soooo good and I wish I could have it every day!”
