PICTURED: The kitchen crew was busy over Labor Day Work & Play Retreat serving 405 plates of food.
Thanks to our Labor Day Work & Play Retreat volunteers who joined together to prepare and serve meals over the weekend. Groups served included Peace Mennonite Community Church Retreat who came for their weekend church retreat along with the male/female cross country teams from the University of Colorado Colorado Springs.
Other projects accomplished included removing noxious weeds from around the pond, Bobcat Hill and the hillside below Emmental. Participants also made good progress on wood splitting in preparing for the coming winter season. Hiking, fishing, and enjoying kettle corn from the cast iron kettle over the fire was some of the activities for the “play” part of the weekend.
