What a great weekend of snow and worship. While the weekend may seem short, Sarah Neher shared during the Sunday morning worship about Saturday’s experience; “It felt like two weeks, but was only one day”.

Mens Retreat
Mountain States Mennonite Conference Mens Retreat at Rocky Mountain Mennonite Camp is coming Mar. 4-6, 2022. Despite last year’s cancellation, John Sharp has agreed to return and lead our weekend with the following theme and sessions:
Theme: “Bearing Witness in Places of Violence and Other Stories”
- Saturday morning worship: “The MJ Sharp story” See: “Disarmed: The Radical Life and Legacy of Michael MJ Sharp” by Marshall King and “Martyr? Hero?” by Tim Huber, Anabaptist World
- Saturday evening worship: “Stories of Humor, Humanity and Humility: Laughing So We Don’t Cry”
- Sun. morning worship: “The Stories We Become”
Additionally, good music, food, fellowship, work (Friday workday projects) and play will be part of our time together. Who’s up for a couple of “sheets” of Human Curling (an RMMC original)?
While we look forward to gathering again in person with precautions, the goal is to livestream or record the worship sessions so the impacts of the coronavirus pandemic is not a barrier to experiencing even some of Men’s Retreat this year depending on individual circumstances. As a result, online registration (www.rmmc.org) will include both in-person and virtual (worship sessions only) options.

Youth Camps
Resident Camp offers a slice of summer where campers experience the outdoors in a fun and safe community. Campers experience a new adventure while growing in their faith and exploring the Rocky Mountains. A variety of activities during the week-long camps include hikes to a variety of locations, afternoon and evening recreation, arts and crafts, a talent show, and daily campfire worships.
Wilderness camp offers an experience with a unique blend of destinations and activities. Each camp is limited to 10 campers. Campers participate in rock climbing and rappelling on Monkey Rock, backpack a few miles to the destination, experience the beauty of remote wilderness areas, play games, set up a campsite and learn skills of camping outside.
Campers of all physical abilities and skill levels are encouraged to come, as no previous experience is necessary. RMMC provides all technical equipment unless a camper has personal gear they wish to use. It is recommended that each camper is capable of carrying their own pack, is able to follow instructions provided by the staff, and has a desire to make the most of the week.

Did you know
Another truck fits right in at RMMC
Good used vehicles can be hard to come by unless camp is part of the exchange. All but two of camp vehicles have come from folks willing to include camp in the transaction. Fittingly, this Toyota truck will represent not the first, but the third reliable used vehicle originating from Dennis & Jen LeFevre. As a bonus, it fits right in with our basic color scheme of only white, grey and black.
Camp vehicles have a unique existence here at camp with the majority of miles coming from the summer months. In general, five program vehicles and five maintenance and housekeeping vehicles typically average no more than 2,500 miles per year to serve the ministry. That said, “camp” miles are a good bit tougher than highway miles. The goal is finding a good balance of age and reliability which minimizes annual insurance and registration operating expenses.
