PICTURED: Divide Fire Department made a visit to camp to help prepare for emergencies.

It was a busy camp day on Thursday, September 15th. In addition to preparing for the Beth-El Mennonite Church Retreat, there were a number of visitors who represent the people and organizations that support the Rocky Mountain Ministry.

The Divide Fire Department also came to camp to test the the Knox (emergency key access) at camp along with the dry hydrant at the pond which allows trucks to access water for their equipment during a fire emergency.

The day began at the Hungry Bear for a breakfast celebration of Sam Hershberger’s first day as year around staff. Sam’s parent who helped with his move to RMMC joined in as did Evelyn Brubaker who is volunteering from Lancaster, PA.

We wrapped up the day by welcoming Betty Esau and family who were celebrating her 90th birthday. Betty was a returning volunteer for ten summer camping seasons and a dear friend of camp and camp staff. Happy birthday Betty!
