DATES OF EMPLOYMENT
All summer staff are required to participate in Staff Orientation. Staff are encouraged to commit for the complete summer (Staff Orientation through Family Camp III) or at minimum through Grade 4 & 5 Resident Camp. Wilderness staff are required to commit for the entire wilderness camp program. At the end of the resident youth camps, program staff will transition into support staff roles. Applicants willing to work for the complete summer schedule will receive best consideration.
REMUNERATION
The rewards of working in a camp ministry are certainly abundant even though the pay isn’t. Rocky Mountain offers compensation including housing, food, and worker’s compensation insurance (health insurance is not available through camp). Salary is offered as follows:
- Meals & housing value: $210 per week
- First-time employees: $75 per week ( w/ meals & housing $285 per week)
- Leadership positions: $100-$125 per week ( w/ meals & housing $310-$335 per week)
- Returning staff bonus: $10 additional per week (up to 3 years maximum)
TIME OFF
Personal time is strongly encouraged as the schedule allows for personal health, especially between camps. Vacation time or additional days off (for family events, weddings, etc.) must be arranged before arriving at Camp for Staff Orientation. Additional days off during the summer must be requested in writing two weeks in advance of the requested day and will be reviewed on a case by case basis.
APPLICATION & HIRING
Interested staff members must submit a completed application form / returning staff form and provide the confidential personal reference forms to three references you have selected. When all of the previous information has been received, hiring decisions will be made on a case by case basis with the goal of having all positions filled by March 15th. However, applications will be accepted until all positions are filled. Please apply early!

VOLUNTEER POSITIONS
Persons interested in coming for a shorter amount of time (typically two weeks or less) are encouraged to apply. Free housing, food and health insurance coverage (up to $5,000 for those without primary insurance) is offered for those unable to make longer term commitments.
